FXHW01 KWNH 210626 PMDHI Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 226 AM EDT Sat Mar 21 2026 Valid 00Z Sun 22 Mar 2026 - 00Z Sun 29 Mar 2026 ...Unwelcome wet pattern to continue into Monday across Hawai'i... An 850mb low to the north is working in tandem with low level ridging east of Hawai'i to maintain a steadfast SWrly low-level flow regime across Hawaii today and through Monday. PWATs remain above the 99th climatological percentile and the islands are placed favorably beneath diffluent 250-500mb winds. Combined with favorable upslope ascent into the islands terrain, excessive rainfall rates will unfortunately remain in the forecast through the remainder of the weekend and into the first half of next week. With soils overly saturated and flooding still ongoing, Hawaii remains vulnerable to additional life-threatening flash flooding and landslides through the first half of next week. As surface ridging begins to build in Tuesday onward to the north and northeast, the anomalous moisture plume will advance north and east as well. This is will finally bring a much need tranquil period of weather for clean up efforts for the second half of next week. Mullinax
