Through 3 am, a scattered showers and stray thunderstorms in a 

disconnected line from Sand key to Long Key will continue moving to 

the east at 5 to 10 knots. Showers will continue to percolate over 

the nearshore waters. Mariners encountering the stronger activity can

expect heavy downpours, wind gusts of 20 to 25 knots, and a stray 

lightning . Island communities across the Lower, Middle, and Upper 

Keys may observe an additional tenth to a quarter of an inch of 

rainfall.
