Through 1 am, a cluster of showers and isolated thunderstorms across eastern Hawk Channel and the far northeast Straits (northeast of the Islamorada Humps) will continue moving to the east at near 15 knots. Additional showers continue across the Upper Keys, portions of Florida Bay as well as the nearshore waters to the north of the Lower Keys. Mariners encountering the stronger activity can expect heavy downpours, wind gusts of 25 to 30 knots, and occasional lightning. Some island communities of the Upper Keys, mainly northeast of Tavernier can expect additional rainfall amounts of a few hundredths to few tenths of an inch of rainfall. $$
