Through 5 AM, scattered to numerous showers and isolated 

thunderstorms will continue moving northeast to east at 10 to 15 

knots across the eastern Straits of Florida, the nearshore waters 

surrounding the Middle and Upper Keys, and the Middle and Lower 

Keys. Mariners encountering the stronger activity across waters 

south of the Middle and Upper Keys should prepare for blinding heavy

downpours, wind gusts of 25 to 30 knots, and frequent lightning. On 

land, island communities in the Middle and Upper Keys may pick up an

additional tenth to a quarter of an inch of rainfall, with locally 

higher amounts up to 1 inch in the heaviest activity.
