Kiribati and Banaba

Situation:
The Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone [ITCZ] lies to the far north of
Northern Line Islands and extends westwards over the northern parts
of Western Kiribati. Another trough of low pressure affects southern
parts of Western Kiribati. Meanwhile, an easterly wind flow prevails
over the group.

Forecast to midnight tomorrow for Kiribati
Moderate to fresh easterly winds.
Moderate to rough seas.

Western Kiribati: Occasional showers and few thunderstorms about and
north of Tarawa. Elsewhere, cloudy periods with some showers and
possible isolated thunderstorms.
Northern Line Islands: Cloudy periods with brief showers elsewhere.
Phoenix Islands: Fine apart from brief showers.
Southern Line Islands: Fine apart from brief showers.
 
Further outlook:    Western Kiribati: Cloudy periods with some
showers about and north of Tarawa. Fine apart from brief showers
elsewhere.
Northern Line Islands: Cloudy periods with brief showers.
Phoenix Islands: Cloudy periods with some showers and isolated
thunderstorms.
Southern Line Islands: Cloudy periods with brief showers.

For Tarawa:
Occasional showers nd few thunderstorms.

For Banaba:
Situation: A trough of low pressure lies near Banaba. Meanwhile, an
easterly wind flow prevails over the island.

Occasional showers and few thunderstorms.
Moderate easterly winds, fresh at times.
Moderate seas.
