A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR COASTAL LAND AREAS OF

YASAWA, RAKIRAKI, NABOUWALU, UDU POINT AND TAVEUNI.



Situation: A high pressure system to the southwest of Fiji directs a

fresh to strong southeast wind over the country.



Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:

For coastal land areas of Yasawa, Rakiraki, Nabouwalu, Udu point and

Taveuni:

Southeast winds with average wind speeds of 45km/hr, gusting up to

55km/hr.

For rest of Fiji:

Moderate to fresh southeast winds, gusty at times.

Moderate to rough seas.



Cloudy periods with brief showers over Serua-Namosi,

Navua-Suva-Nausori up to Korovou, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands,

Cakaudrove and Southern Bua provinces, Lau and Lomaiviti groups.

Elsewhere, mainly fine.

Cool nights.





Outlook for Friday     : For coastal land areas of Yasawa, Rakiraki,

speeds of 45km/hr, gusting up to 55km/hr.For rest of Fiji: Moderate

AND WATERS OF ROTUMA.



Situation: A trough of low pressure with the associated cloud and

showers affect Rotuma. Meanwhile, an easterly wind flow prevails over

the island.



Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms. Showers easing

tomorrow.

Southeast winds with average wind speeds of 45 km/hr and wind gusts

up to 55 km/hr.

Rough seas.

Tomorrow: Max: 30, Min: 23.



Outlook for Friday     : Cloudy periods with breif showers.

Expect strong southeast winds with winds speeds of 50 km/hr over land
