Situation: A weakening trough of low pressure lies over the eastern

parts of the country.  Meanwhile, a moist easterly wind flow prevails

over the group.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group:

Cloudy periods with some showers over Yasawa, Serua-Namosi,

Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, southern Bua, Cakaudrove,

eastern Macuata, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau, Lomaiviti,

Kadavu and nearby smaller islands. Fine weather apart from afternoon

or evening showers elsewhere.

Isolated afternoon thunderstorms with heavy falls expected over Viti

Levu and Vanua Levu.

Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low-lying and

flood prone areas.

Moderate easterly winds.

Moderate seas.



Outlook for Saturday   : Cloudy periods with some showers over
