A STRONG WIND ALERT REMAINS IN FORCE FOR COASTAL LAND AREAS OF

YASAWA, RAKIRAKI, NABOUWALU, UDU POINT AND TAVEUNI.



Situation: A high pressure system to the southwest of Fiji is

expected to direct fresh to strong southeast wind over the country

from later today.



Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group:

For coastal land areas of Yasawa, Rakiraki, Nabouwalu, Udu point and

Taveuni:

Southeast winds with average wind speeds of 45km/hr, gusting up to

55km/hr developing from tomorrow over coastal land areas of Yasawa,

Rakiraki, Nabouwalu, Udu point and Taveuni.

For rest of Fiji: 

Moderate to fresh southeast winds, gusty at times.

Moderate to rough seas.



Cloudy periods with brief showers over Serua-Namosi,

Navua-Suva-Nausori up to Korovou], Kadavu and nearby smaller islands,

Cakaudrove and Southern Bua provinces, Taveuni and nearby smaller

islands, Lau and Lomaiviti groups. 

Elsewhere, mainly fine. 

Cool at night. 

 

 

Outlook for Thursday   : For coastal land areas of Yasawa, Rakiraki,

Nabouwalu, Udu point and Taveuni: Southeast winds with average wind

ROTUMA.



Situation: A trough of low pressure lies slow moving near Rotuma.

Associated cloud and showers is expected to affectS the island.

Meanwhile, an easterly wind flow prevails over the island.



Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms.

Southeast winds with average wind speeds of 45 km/hr and wind gusts

up to 55 km/hr.

Rough seas.

Max: 31, Min: 23.



Outlook for Thursday   : Occasional showers and few thunderstorms.

Isolated heavy falls likely. 

Expect strong southeast winds with winds speeds of 50 km/hr over land
