A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR SOUTHERN LAU GROUP,

YASAYASA MOALA, KADAVU AND NEARBY SMALLER ISLANDS, LOMAIVITI GROUPS,

SOUTHERN AND EASTERN HALF OF VITI LEVU [FROM SIGATOKA CORAL COAST

THROUGH SUVA UPTO RAKIRAKI] AND YASAWA GROUP, AND IS NOW CANCELLED

FOR SOUTHERN BUA, CAKAUDROVE INCLUDING TAVEUNI AND NEARBY SMALLER

ISLANDS AND EASTERN MACUATA.



Situation: A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers

to the east of Fiji is expected to gradually drift eastwards away

from the group later today. Meanwhile, a high pressure to the south

of the group continues to direct moderate to strong southeast wind

over the group.

 

Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:

For Yasawa, Eastern and Southern Viti Levu [Sigatoka through Suva up

to Rakiraki] , Lau and Lomaiviti groups,  Kadavu and nearby smaller

islands:

Expect southeast winds with speeds of 35 to 45km/hr and upto 55 km/hr

at times. Winds gradually easing to moderate to fresh later tomorrow.

Rough to very rough seas.

Elsewhere, Moderate to fresh southeast winds, gusty at times.

Moderate to rough seas.



Cloudy periods with some showers over Navua-Suva-Nausori,

Serua-Namosi-Naitasiri-Tailevu-Ra, Cakaudrove, eastern Macuata,

southern Bua, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti 

groups, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands. 

Elsewhere, fine weather apart from isolated afternoon or evening

showers.

Isolated thunderstorms and heavy falls possible.



Outlook for Thursday   : Cloudy periods with brief showers over 

Navua-Suva-Nausori, Serua-Namosi-Naitasiri-Tailevu-Ra, Cakaudrove,

eastern Macuata, southern Bua, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands,

Expect southeast winds with speeds of 35 to 45km/hr and upto 55 km/hr

at times.

Winds easing to moderate to fresh southeast winds later tomorrow.
