Situation: A trough of low pressure with cloud and showers lies slow

moving over the southern parts of the group. Meanwhile, another

trough with cloud, showers and rain lies just to the northeast of

Fiji. It is gradually moving westwards and expected to drift through

the group from later today until Friday night. 

 

Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:

Occasional showers with few thunderstorms over the Lomaiviti and Lau

group. 

Cloudy periods with some showers with isolated thunderstorm and heavy

falls especially over Sigatoka-Korolevu, Serua-Namosi,

Navua-Suva-Nasinu, Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Northern Bua and

Macuata.  

Elsewhere, mainly fine with afternoon or evening showers and

thunderstorms.

Showers expected to become frequent and increase to rain over the

northern parts of the group from later today.

Afternoon or evening thunderstorms with heavy falls may lead to flash

flooding of low lying and flood prone areas.

Moderate south to southwest winds.

Moderate seas.



Outlook for Thursday   : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few

thunderstorms over the Northern and Eastern parts of the group,

expected to spread to most parts of the group later in the day.

Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying and

flood prone areas. Moderate northwest to southeast winds. Moderate

seas.



For Navua / Suva / Nausori :

Cloudy periods with some showers with isolated thunderstorm and heavy

falls.

For Natadradave/Korovou:

Cloudy periods with some showers with isolated thunderstorm and heavy

falls.

Situation: An active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and

rain affects Rotuma.

Moderate to fresh westerly winds, gusty at times.

Moderate to rough seas.
