.DISCUSSION...Warm and dry today with highs in the upper 50s to

low 60s. Afternoon humidities will range from around 17 to 25 

percent. Breezy northwest winds will develop across northwestern 

South Dakota this afternoon with sustained winds of 10 to 20 mph 

and gusts up to 25 mph. Warm and mostly dry conditions will 

continue into next week.

...HIGH FIRE DANGER...



The grassland fire danger index will reach the high category this

afternoon. Unfavorable weather conditions and low moisture 

content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground,

indicate that there is high potential for a fire to spread. 

Outdoor burning should be restricted to early morning 

or evening hours when wind speeds are usually lower and the 

relative humidity is higher.



The outlook for Monday afternoon, The grassland fire danger index

will reach the moderate category to high category.

this afternoon. Marginal weather conditions or a lowering 

moisture content of grasses, and other dry organic material on 

the ground, indicate that there is some potential for a fire 

to spread. Any outdoor burning should be closely monitored.

will reach the low category to high category.
