FNUS63 KFSD 041939 RFDFSD Rangeland Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Sioux Falls SD 239 PM CDT Mon May 4 2026 .DISCUSSION... A mild and breezy day continues! With temperatures in the 50s to 60s continuing this afternoon along with lower dew points, relative humidity values have fallen to the near-critical values in the 25-35 percent range. This combined with breezy northerly winds with gusts between 25-35 mph has led to elevated fire concerns for most areas along and east of I-29. While a few light sprinkles and greening fuels could work to mitigate some of the fire danger, decided that the conditions warrant a special weather statement (SPS) through 8 PM. With this in mind, make sure to limit any activities that could create a spark!
