.DISCUSSION...



South-southwest winds will develop across the region today, with 

gusts from 20 to 30 mph in the James valley eastward into the 

Glacial Lakes area. Afternoon humidity is forecast to fall to 

between 35 and 45 percent for most areas.



On Saturday, winds will increase a bit more out of the south-

southeast and generally gust between 25 and 35 mph for many areas. 

Forecast humidity is generally above 50 percent for the entire 

forecast area.

...MODERATE FIRE DANGER...



Marginal weather conditions or lowering moisture content of grasses,

and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that there is

some potential for a fire to spread.  Any outdoor burning should be

closely monitored.





The outlook for Saturday afternoon...The grassland fire danger index

will reach the low to moderate category.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...



Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture content of grasses,

and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that the

probability of a fast moving fire is low.  Outdoor burning under

these conditions can usually be performed with reasonable safety

precautions, but should be monitored.





The outlook for Saturday afternoon...The grassland fire danger index

will reach the moderate category.
