.DISCUSSION...

While a narrow wedge of high pressure will support fair weather for 

the majority of today...a strong cold front will plow through late 

this afternoon and evening to plunge the area back into winter. Rain 

showers will initially accompany the front...then notably colder air 

in its wake will quickly change the precipitation to snow. Scattered 

snow showers will persist into Tuesday with most areas picking up at 

least a coating of post season snowfall. The Eastern Lake Ontario 

region could receive several inches. The snow will be accompanied by 

gusty winds and temperatures more typical of early February.
