...Synopsis...

An upper trough will continue eastward today from the southern

Plains into the lower Mississippi Valley. As the surface trough

develops eastward, the pressure gradient will increase in the

southeast. Dry northeasterly/easterly winds around the surface high

will promote dry afternoon conditions in parts of Alabama and

Georgia. RH could fall to around 25-35% with winds of 10-15 mph.

With upper-level cloud cover possible, there is some uncertainty in

how low RH will fall. However, ensemble guidance still shows a

signal for sustained elevated fire weather.
