Minimum RH of 15-30% is likely today across and east of the Piedmont

from central Virginia into Alabama, but winds are likely to remain

below 10 mph. RH is forecast to drop below Elevated and in some

areas below Critical criteria for several hours today from

central/western North Carolina stretching southwest to the Gulf

Coast from Mississippi through much of the Florida Panhandle.

...Synopsis...

An upper trough will eject into the southern Plains today. This

feature will bring precipitation across a broad area of dry fuels.

Pockets of dry fuels will remain in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic

regions. Dry northerly to easterly winds around a surface high could

promote areas of locally elevated fire weather during the afternoon.

However, overall light winds are not expected to support significant

fire weather concerns.
