FNAK71 PAFC 240107 FWSAER Spot Forecast for 20 Mile...DPS National Weather Service Anchorage AK 507 PM AKDT Thu Oct 23 2025 Forecast is based on forecast start time of 2000 AKDT on October 23. .DISCUSSION... A pair of weak lows moving over the northern Gulf will lift northwest and inland into the Kenai Peninsula later tonight and shift into the Cook Inlet tomorrow. Another round of rain and gusty easterly winds will move through with this system overnight tonight into Friday morning, with some improvement in conditions likely during the afternoon. Additional upper disturbances will rotate into the coast around the north side of a larger low drifting over the Gulf from Friday into Saturday, with the timing of additional rounds of light rain/snow still uncertain. Snow levels should generally trend down as the air mass in place cools, so expect passing showers to fall mainly as snow for all but the lowest valleys closer to Girdwood and Portage by Friday night. The best window for a break in rain/snow and lower cloud cover over the next couple days still looks focused towards Saturday afternoon. .REST OF TONIGHT...
