Near record high temperatures this afternoon combined with low humidity levels will create limited fire weather danger especially in parts of northeast Oklahoma. A limiting factor is winds are forecast to be relatively light with gusts of 10 to 15 miles an hour. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... A dry cold front moves across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas Sunday afternoon and evening with north winds gusting up to 30 miles an hour. These winds along with dormant grasses and low humidity levels will elevate fire weather danger across the region. The area of greatest concern is across northeast Oklahoma where near critical to locally critical grassland fire spread rates are forecast.
