ONSET...Mid-morning. FIRE WEATHER DANGER. RISK...Limited. AREA...West of Oklahoma Highway 99. ONSET...This Afternoon. DISCUSSION... Isolated thunderstorms may develop off of the dryline in western Oklahoma and move into eastern Oklahoma during the evening hours before weakening. Any storm that develops and persists will be capable of producing large to very large hail to 2 inches in diameter and locally damaging winds. More storms are expected to develop after midnight over mainly northwest Arkansas, with a limited large hail threat. South winds will gust 30 to 40 mph across eastern Oklahoma and far northwest Arkansas. There is a very limited fire weather danger to the west of highway 99 in northeast Oklahoma. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... Local Spotter Activation May Be Needed. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday. TUESDAY...Thunderstorm...High Wind Potential. WEDNESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential. THURSDAY and FRIDAY...No Hazards. SATURDAY and SUNDAY...Thunderstorm Potential. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... Scattered storms are expected to redevelop by late Tuesday afternoon from portions of northwest Arkansas down into far southeast Oklahoma along an advancing cold front. These storms will carry an elevated severe risk, with large hail and locally damaging wind the main threats. The storms are expected to move quickly east of the forecast area by early evening. Some storms may develop behind the front, possibly as far back as northeast Oklahoma during the day Tuesday, but these storms will carry a very limited severe risk. Storms may develop on the cool side of the front Wednesday across far southeast Oklahoma into west-central Arkansas. These storms would carry a limited large hail risk.
