This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central

Illinois...northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana.



.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.



Weather hazards expected...



  Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:

     Level 1 of 5 Damaging Wind Risk...up to 60 mph.

     Level 1 of 5 Large Hail Risk...up to around 1 inch in diameter.

  Elevated Blowing Dust Risk.

  Elevated Fire Weather Risk.



DISCUSSION...



This afternoon, strong southwest winds and dry conditions will 

likely to blowing dust in open, agricultural areas, especially 

near and south of I-80. These conditions will also result in a

somewhat elevated risk of fire spread.



Scattered thunderstorms are expected this evening. The primary 

risks with these storms will be cloud to ground lightning, heavy 

downpours, and gusty winds. However, there is a slight chance 

that a couple of the thunderstorms could become severe early this 

evening, capable of producing locally damaging winds and large 

hail.

  No hazardous weather is expected at this time.
