Record or near record high temperatures are expected today, with most areas across western and north central Nebraska reaching highs in the middle to upper 80s. These warm temperatures will be accompanied by low relative humidity, causing at least elevated to near critical fire weather concerns this afternoon. Winds are expected to remain mostly under 20 mph. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday. Record high temperatures in the 90s are expected Saturday across the area. Critical fire weather conditions will develop late morning and continue into the overnight hours. A red flag warning is in effect from 10 AM CDT Saturday through 4 AM CDT Sunday. Minimum relative humidity Saturday afternoon will reach 7 to 13 percent. Southwest and west winds may gust up to 30 MPH Saturday. A cold front will bring an abrupt change in wind direction to the north late Saturday evening. Wind gusts behind the front may gust up to 45 MPH. Near critical fire weather conditions are possible Monday through Wednesday across the area.
