This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northeast North Carolina and 

southeast Virginia.

A slow moving cold front crosses the area this afternoon into

tonight, bringing periods of rain and scattered thunderstorms. A few

strong to severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon, with 

damaging winds as the main threat. Locally heavy rain is also 

possible with potential for localized flooding in low lying, poor 

drainage, and other flood prone areas.

Near to below freezing temperatures are looking increasingly likely  

Tuesday night.
