After a lull in the action, additional showers and thunderstorms entered far southern Kansas from the south by late in the day. Widespread clouds held daytime temperatures in the 50s and 60s, warmest over western Kansas where sunshine was more prevalent. Areas of rain with a few embedded thunderstorms will expand north across Kansas tonight, with the most widespread activity generally along and south of the Interstate 70 corridor. Severe weather is not expected, although pockets of heavy rainfall and localized minor flooding are possible. Forecast low temperatures are in the upper 40s and 50s across the state. Widespread rain will continue across central and eastern portions of Kansas Saturday, with additional pockets of locally heavy rainfall possible. Forecast high temperatures are mostly in the 50s. $$
