Very light winds and mostly clear skies lead to tranquil conditions. For today, well above normal temperatures will be seen across the region once again. Afternoon highs will top out in the 90s from southern Nebraska and into Oklahoma with record highs possible. Look for breezy southwesterly winds with gusts between 20 to 30 mph during the afternoon. Tonight, temperatures will range significantly across the Plains as a cold front begins to march south across the region. Temperatures will fall into the 40s for western Nebraska and northwestern Kansas with temperatures lingering in the 60s for eastern Kansas and Oklahoma. $$
