A weak and mainly dry trough of low pressure will pass through this afternoon and evening, accompanied by only a few spotty light rain showers that could be mixed with snowflakes across the higher terrain of Northern PA. Practically all locations will stay dry. Temperatures will end up about 10 degrees milder than Wednesday. Mid to late afternoon highs will be in the lower 40s in the north-central mountains and lower 50s in the southern valleys. Clouds will thicken up again tonight, but it will stay dry. Lows will range from upper 20s in the northeast to the upper 30s in the southwest. A low pressure area will cross the Great Lakes on Friday and push a weak cold front through the state Friday afternoon and evening. Rain showers are expected to make a soaking rainfall over much of the Commonwealth with the lightest amounts in the southeast. A few rumbles of thunder are possible in western PA as the front passes. Highs on Friday will be another 10 degrees warmer than today, running around 50 in the north-central mountains and in the lower 60s in the southern valleys. Saturday looks dry with high temperatures similar to Friday. $$
