Patchy drizzle noted across the Central Mountains and Laurel Highlands early today will diminish by late this morning. Fairly thick cloud cover will keep the eastern two thirds of the state much cooler today, compared to the Western third. High temperatures will range from the upper 60s and 70s east of the Allegheny Front, while areas to the west will see temperatures climb into the low to mid 80s. Cloud cover will hold tough tonight with showers developing across the Northwest third of the state after midnight. Low temperatures tonight will vary from the mid and upper 50s across the Pocono region and North Central Mountains to the upper 60s in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. Periods of showers will be most numerous during the morning and early afternoon hours of Wednesday across the Northern half of the Keystone state, with scattered thunderstorms possible Wednesday afternoon and evening across the southeast half of Pennsylvania. A drying and warming trend will follow for Thursday and Friday. Rain chances ramp up later in the weekend, preceding a taste of Fall as we head into the last week of August. $$
