This weather feature will create mostly cloudy to overcast skies that will persist through early tonight, before a weak cold front moves through the region causing some clearing takes place, at least across the Central Ridge and Valley Region of the state. Some intermittent very light snow and flurries will bring little or no accumulation today across the Central Ridge and Valley region of the state, but locally around one-half of an inch across the Northwest Mountains and Laurel Highlands. High temperatures today will range from the 20s across the Northern and Western Mountains of the state, to the low and mid 30s in the Susquehanna Valley. Lows tonight will This subtle warming trend will continue through much of the remainder of this week. However, temperatures will remain below normal values for early February by about 5 degrees. Lows tonight will be in the single digits above zero over the Northwest two-thirds of the state and 10 to 15 degrees in the Lower Susquehanna Valley and Southeastern corner of the state. A weak surface low and upper level disturbance will brush the Southern Tier of the state some light snow later this afternoon and tonight. However, any accumulations will be light. The next chance for more widespread light snow is expected to arrive on Friday, followed by a return to well below normal temperatures and sub-zero wind chills at night, Friday night through Sunday night. $$
